County urged to do more to promote marina plans
A REGENERATION body has called on Cumbria County Council to be more proactive in marketing a new industrial estate. Barrow Regeneration, the body tasked with delivering the town’s £200m Waterfront project, will close before March next year. The Waterfront masterplan – which includes a 650-home marina village, a 350-berth yacht marina, a £10m yacht entrance canal and a new business park on Barrow Island – was put on hold because of government funding cuts.     Full Story >>>

250 affordable homes may appear on Salthouse Mills site
A COUNCIL U-turn could see hundreds of affordable homes built on a derelict site.
