Current Vacancies on the Waterfront

Work commences in October 2008, and runs for 60 weeks.

Potential employment opportunities  include:

Cleaners (likely to be sub contracted to a local company)
Secretarial & administration staff (3-4 people needed now)
Labourers
Plant drivers
Trainee & Graduate Engineers
Chain Persons  and Groundworkers

Our Waterfront Workshop drop in centre at the corner of Anchor Road and Island Road on Barrow Island  is now open Monday - Friday. Here you can call in and get expert advice and help on local job opportunities.Funding is available on a discretionary basis to enable employers to identify individuals and develop customized training designed to make them work ready and to recruit people who are unemployed. In addition individuals who have recently been made redundant or face redundancy can access discretionary grant assistance to enhance their skills.

Part Two - Jobs on The Waterfront (Existing Employers) 

There are potentially a great number of job opportunities for your partner and family members in the Furness area particularily in Barrow the administrative and retail centre for south west Cumbria and surrounding Bay area, which is home to around 310,000 people.

This website shows many of the permanent jobs with firms located or locating on The Waterfront which arre normally advertised in the local media, such as the Northwest Evening Mail (Monday and Thursday) (www.nwemail.co.uk) , Westmorland Gazette (Friday) and The Advertiser (Thursday).

Vacancies are also advertised by Job Centre Plus in Job Centres in Millom, Ulverston and Barrow.
