Cruise Facilities
Purpose built new cruise ship facilities with direct access to Walney Channel are proposed in order to give Barrow special status as the international gateway by sea to the world famous English Lake District.
The new berth will enable cruise ships to dock outside the enclosed dock system at Barrow by the present deep water berth.
From 2010 part of this area will also be used for suppoerting wind farm construction at a new berth and pontoon being used by Seimens
