The watersports Centre

Barrow Regeneration (formerly Urban Regeneration Company  West Lakes Renaissance) is working with Barrow Borough Council to develop plans for a dockside watersports centre catering for canoeing, sailing, wind-surfing and power boat racing.  The Watersports Centre will be located on the town side of Ramsden Dock with access from St George's Square.

 Since 2003, Formula 2 National Grand Prix Power Boat racing has been held in Barrow's Ramsden Dock and attracted up to 3,500 visitors for individual events.

Power boat racing has become a popular attraction. following the speed restrictions being placed on Lake Windermere
